Philosophy of Kaihou-Kaze no waza Jutsu:
Kaihou-Kaze no waza Jutsu incorporates all aspects of the body’s weaknesses and strengths into an martial art that allows it’s students to learn more about the body, especially theirs, how to strengthen and enhance their body, and how to defend themselves while stopping the fight as soon as possible.
The philosophy that Mr. Bell teaches shows a student that they should follow the following steps when a confrontation comes up:
- Talk to the person wishing to fight attempting to get to the root of the problem. If the process escalates –
- Attempt to back off and walk away (always being sure to face the contender and remain safe) continuing to talk, if this fails,
- Block the aggressor off continuing to talk your way out of the fight. If this doesn’t work,
- Lock the person in a position where they can not harm you, if that does not stop the fight,
- The student may then become more aggressive themselves escalating the fight until it ends.
It is the responsibility of the student to always attempt to go back to the beginning at each phase of the fight. Shihan Bell recognizes that many fights escalate quickly; however, every fight must follow these steps. The goal of the student of this Way should be to never fight, but to live in harmony with themselves and those around them.
